700R4 question
700R4 question Hey every one. A good friend o mine is working on a 91 1500 4x4 and is having some issues. He purchased the truck for cheap with the intent of rebuilding the transmission that was assumed to be bad by the old owner.
Currently the truck starts just fine however when you put it into drive it feels like it doesn't have any power (almost like its starting in a higher gear). When you pull it down into first gear the truck drives just fine.
This is a 4.3 and I don't know a ton about the 700R4s but to me it sounds like a shift solenoid or TVs cable.

Check the governor the nylon gear is probably stripped.
