Default P1870 fix Teckpak valve issue

I have a 2000 formula and I've thrown the p1870 code and I've bought the Teckpak fitzall kit and I've dropped the valve body and pulled the tcc valve. 1st there is supposedly an inner valve that wasn't on the back side of the spring. 2nd the valve I pulled out wasn't like the one the kit show that is suppose to be there. The kit calls for the inner valve to be reinstalled. What do I need to do to get this kit installed and back on the road

Look at the Transgo HD2 instructions here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...questions.html

Look on Page 3; the upper left corner shows pictures of the three different "converter reg valve" that GM used. Your 2000 should have the 3rd type. It consists of three pieces - the outer-most 2-part valve, the spring and a small inner part. You need to get all three parts out; the inner part can get stuck and be hard to remove, but it must come out.

IIRC, in another recent thread the OP mentioned that it took some persuasion to push the Teckpak valve in; lube it with ATF.

Let us know if this did not answer your question.

BTW - Those HD2 instructions show you where the different length VB bolts go. DO NOT mix them up!

After looking it seems that mine has the hd-2 ISO-conv valve. It looks worn in places. Now that I'm putting in the Teckpak kit, where can I find the "inner valve" that it talks about?!

If your VB had the Transgo HD-2 ISO-conv valve in it, there is no inner valve. The inner valve performs the "PWM" function, by removing the stock inner valve and just putting a spring there, it becomes an on/off valve.

Will the Teckpak kit work without the inner valve?

I read the instructions for the Teckpak; it says to reinstall the stock inner valve. So I guess you need one.
If you don't have one, PM me as I have several spare ones.
