Default help! ATI flexplate question

I bought ati flexplate kit for ls1 from summit...summit and everywhere else I read say not to use spacer on replacement applicstions which is what I am doing. Only need with th400/350 etc installs. The directions with flexplate say install spacer and the flexplate and bolt together. Which do I do??

If you are installing an 4L60E trans ('98 or later for LS engines), then no spacer should be needed.
