6L80E weird downshift problem

6L80E weird downshift problem I'm running a 6L80E without the BCM and don't have TUTD running, but it has the Vette program in it to use TUTD just I'm too idle to sort out the shifter.
Over the last week it has started randomly downshifting to, what appears to be 1st gear, at anything up to 50mph.
When it downshifts it locks the rear wheels, which makes for interesting steering.
It upshifts again after a second or two but they are very interesting seconds.
I also noticed on the Freeway the other day it would downshift a gear for no apparent reason whilst cruising on the flat.
Has anyone any ideas why it would be doing this.
The car has 1200miles on it since it was finished and it has only done this in the last 80miles.
It's shaken my faith in it as it's pretty unsafe the way it is.

I'll take the car to my tuner and see if he can sort it out.
My scanner isn't showing anything and I don't get a CEL.
I plan on playing with the TUTD next week and that may solve it.
It did a couple of weird downshifts today at low speed and you can see the tacho jump as it drops into a lower gear and it really slows the old girl up.
I have the G8 shifter installed so this should work.
Unfortunately without the BCM I have no idea what gear the car is in at any point in time.
