Default Best transmission filter

I always see discussions about motor oil filters and never anything about transmission filters. Are all tranny filters the same or are some more superior than others ie. Wix vs fram etc.?

What filter do you guys use in your cars?

I've seen the GM-spec ones marked as "Made in Mexico" and most aftermarket as "Made in China". I've never bought from an auto parts store, but the ones made on this continent might be better. In either case, make sure it fits snugly into its sleeve; the filter usually comes with a new sleeve if needed.

That's interesting. I have a filter from auto zone sitting in my garage from 2 years ago and never put it in my old tranny before I got my FLT. I'll be changing the fluid in mine in the spring will that do the trick or should I get another gm filter?

SPX Filtran or Filter Tech are the two that I generally use. I would stay away from the run of the mill part store filters unless they have these names on the filter for either the 80E or the 60E.

Exactly when it comes to a $10 filter they are pretty much all the same, really isn't a lot of different medias used like an oil filter
