While I have never visited the Chevelle forums which likely have swap info, you might also try the Gen2 Camaro forum www.nastyz28.com in the section "High Tech Retrofits". IMHO, the Camaro forum has faster replies than most other forums and many Chevelle and Nova owners therefore participate.
The likely "issues" with your swap will not be the transmission, but selecting an engine oil pan than doesn't hit the subframe crossmember and doesn't interfere with the steering linkage. A G-Force crossmember from www.crossmembers.com will take care of the trans mounting.
I used LH8 pan (hangs low), old style BRP engine mount plates, stock SBC engine mounts but moved the frame stands to where the engine wanted to sit, and the stock crossmember in the frame holes for a TH400/700r4. The tailhousing of the trains needed 1" spacers between it and the trans mount to get a good driveline angle.
Large hammer on the firewall around the bellhousing took care of the rest.
