Trans or Converter Issue? Hi All,
Going to be calling companies over the next few weeks, but I know there is a wealth of knowledge and experience on here so figured I'd post this up.
Raced my car for the first time in 2years this fall... Best ever on motor for me 11.11@121 mph (6200rpm). Everything seemed great after 8 consistent passes between two days so decided to step it up..
Hitt the car with a 100shot and went 10.45@121 (6400rpm) Car was cranking until 2-3 and it just felt flat.
During every pass motor or na my buddy said the car just sounded flat in 3rd gear, wasn't pulling
I'm running an FLT Level 4 tranny and PT4000 converter.. According to HPTUNERS my Trans In/Out rpm during the pass was equal in 3rd gear , so not sure how accurate that is, but that would point me towards it blowing threw the converter
I know the pt4000 isn't recommended for nitrous, but I've run a small shot threw it before without issue, but the motor seems to be making about 40more horse now so maybe it pushed it over the edge?
Open to thoughts and suggestions. My buddy wants me to go th400 but I street drive the car more than anything so I want to keep electronics, I know 4l80e are hugely popular, but I'm not looking to go much faster...
