4l80E issues until warmed up
2000 6.0L w/4L80E, 200K miles.
I have a donor 4L80E to swap, but first, need to figure out what's going on, so there's one less "unkown" after the swap.
1) When the vehicle is cold, it may or may not go into gear until about 2K RPMs are applied for a couple seconds.
2) When the transmission is just warmed up (100F), and i come to a stop, the 4L80E will either stay locked up & kill the engine or drop out of gear (like neutral) until 2K RPMs are applied again.
It will never misbehave between steps 1 & 2.
After the transmission is warmed up past 100F, neither of these events will re-occur until the transmission cools after setting, thus below 100F.
Step 1 seems to be converter or pump related, but Step 2 seems to be TCC related. Has anyone else experienced this, or have some guidance on where to start?
