Default anyone identify this plastic ring 4l80e

I am doing my first 4l80e rebuild, things are going pretty well so far. I do have one unidentified part, this yellowish plastic ring, it came from somewhere around the direct drum/gear train area. The atsg manual isn't very helpful with the diagrams, and the "some trans will have this, some will have something else" wording
anyone have an idea where it comes from/should go?
thanks
jon
