Swap Tranny Choice
Swap Tranny Choice So I have a 1950 Chevy truck that I am trying to swap a 5.3L into. I purchased a 5.3 out of a 2000 Silverado and got the harness and PCM with it. I still need a tranny and I am finding mixed answers on years that interchange. I found a good deal on a low miled 4l60e out of a 2001 Silverado that had a 4.8L motor. Can I use this?
I have seen some places say that 99-00 interchange and that 01 is different but is that only for a stock application? I will have my computer flashed and harness reworked at some point so if its a tuning issue that's ok. Or if its a wiring issue, I can fix that if I know what to change.
If you guys can help me out I would appreciate it.
