Any advise?
We would like to see if its the splines for the input shaft or the tabs for the pump.
If the splines, sounds like a defective converter or too much power.
If the pump tabs, likely an installation mistake that they tried to cover up.
I don't have any personal experience with such a problem, but it looks suspiciously like the installer goofed and didn't have the converter fully installed before the trans was fully tightened to the engine. That generally breaks the pump rotor, but perhaps in your case it cracked the converter.
Perhaps Chris (Circle-D) or Frank (Performabuilt) can confirm or correct my suspicion. (Chuck from FLT doesn't participate that much.)
Those experts might have other possible scenarios, but I suspect they all result from install errors.
