4l80e start in second Odd Question GURU needed Might seem a bit of an odd question, but for my conversion into my landcruiser, there is a button on the center console, that allows you to start in second, this primary used for LOW range. I was trying to figure a way to wire it into my conversion. From what Ive researched if you loose power to the to the transmission it should revert back to Second? so if i hook the switch up using a relay to cut power to the 4l80e, I have a transmission that is now stuck in second? So if i'm driving along in this state at a faster speed that warrants 3rd and depress the switch to close power again back to the transmision will the transmission go straight to gear selected by the ecm? and will this throw any fault codes? or cause any damage to the Transmission.

The PCM has at least two shift tables - Normal and Performance. You could program the Performance table to shift differently when you are in LOW range. I don't know the details, but there is doco here on how to switch the PCM into Performance mode, IIRC it is a push button that toggles the mode.
That would be a much better method than cutting power to the trans.
