Good price for a rebuildable core?
Good price for a rebuildable core? I'm looking for a good rebuildable core to be sent out as a core replacement for a rebuilt and upgraded unit for my build. I have a TH350 sitting on the floor of my garage but I don't know if they will accept it for the TH400, PG, or 4L80 that I'm looking at.
There's a TH400 with BPO case that needs rebuilt about 1.5hrs away from me for $125. How's that price? What is the BPO case exactly?

usually referred to as BOP ( Buick ,Olds, Pontiac) the bellhousing pattern mates up to buick olds & pontiac engines from 80's and earlier when each manufacturer had independent engine options instead of GM shared corporate engines . the other way they came back then was Chevy pattern which fit straight 6 , small & big block v8 chevies.
I have a 49,000 mile working glide for sale in the eastern classifieds came out of my 73 ventura behind a straight 6 so it has the deeper 1.8 ratio first gear CHEVY BOLT PATTERN $300 located in So.Maine but would deliver it to Mass border for that price or CT border for another $50.

decide what trans you want first, then worry about a core
talk to who ever your having the work done and see what they charge if you don't have a core, might be the same as if you went out and got one
chevy 400 cores can be had for $100-125, not worth much more than that, although some charge more mainly because they want a core back
there's 4L80E's for $100-300 around

BOP cores are getting a little more popular, cut the front off and now you can run a chevy BP ultra bell or something else-also with the new 400 cases being manf., builders are getting the BOP cores for the guts
as said, fig out which trans you want first, as your all over the place on which one, lol
