Default Torque Converter??

I have a 02 WS6 with approx 110K miles. I'm going with stock 243 heads that I'm going to mill .007-.010 for flatness. Probably going with a stock gasket. Going with the SNS torquemax Stage 2. I'm an M6 with standard gears, which are going to be moved to 4.10 later down the line. Fully bolt ons save an Ls6 intake which I'm planning to upgrade to Fast 90/90 with upgrade budget providing. I know I need a torque converter and the most popular seems to be Yanks, but I have know idea which one, what stall, or which option I should go with. Any help would be appreciated. This is mainly gonna be a street car although I def want the ability to dabble here and there on a track. Thanks guys.

not entirely sold yet. I have a buddy who has an automatic car and has an automatic setup that is telling me it's way better. I've driven his car and it seems alright but I'm not sold on it. I'm just gathering info on my build in case I decide that way.

Well if you have the A4 there are some good options for stall. I just had a circle D 3600 converter put in and I really like it. Big improvement over stocker. I've heard good things about Yank too. Stock 243 heads would be great, but I'd get them ported. I'm hoping to go bigger cam and a set of built ported 243/799 heads next summer. I also have a LS6 intake and just haven't outgrown it yet, I will save the Peak Ported Fast 102 for last.

If you're planning to go A4 and it's going to be primarily a street car, I'd stick with the standard 3.42 gears you already have. As for converters, there are a bunch of threads that you can read on this forum - the torque converter education thread mentioned above being a good place to start.

Questions like "What's the best converter?" are not helpful, as everybody just chimes in with what they like. Come back and start a new thread once you've obtained your 4L60e and are getting ready for the install.
