Just picked up a 1996 stang and doing a swap for a dd and some track runs. I'm using my ls2 stroker and going auto. I have a customer that gave me a 700r tranny thats been rebuilt. Will this trans hold up to a 500+ hp engine or should i stick to a th400 ? and what converter would be good ? cam comes in at 3,600 rpms, any input would be great. thanks

 

The 700 will hold 500HP if it is built to handle 500HP, if it is a stock rebuild then it probably won't.
