1994 4l60e all the same within a given model year? So I finally have verified I have a 1994 engine and a 1994 transmission in my 1995 Camaro. I have verified the PCU to be one that was used in 1994/1995 (code 16188051). I have sourced local junk yard/salvage yards and I think they are BSing me. My question is: within a given model year (1994), are all the 4L60e transmissions the same? In other words, which vehicles can I source a tranny from? I found a bunch of 1994 Chevy/GMC trucks (some have 4wd) at a local boneyard. Within the model year of 1994, they are all the same internally, correct? I realize the tailshaft is different because of the Torque arm...Most people are telling me that the 1994 transmission is unique to Firebird and Camaro. I find that hard to believe.
1993 is the oddball year (4L60, no "E". 5-pin lock-up). AFAIK, all 94 4L60E's will interchange directly (of course 2WD-2WD and 4WD-4WD). 96 started bolt on bells, and 98 started the 300mm stuff.
