Default pcm controlled powerglide shift solenoid

Has anyone ever used a shift circuit from the pcm to control a electric shifter on a powerglide? like a solenoid that mounts behind the shifter and pushes the shifter lever. then it could be changed with hp tuners etc..

theres no provisions in the stock ECU to control a solenoid for that purpose...

you could do it with a stand alone shift light(programmable, or one with an RPM pill), and a relay.

most people who use a shiftnoid (electric or CO2 operated) use a stand alone computer or a separate module to control it.

You could easily make it work.

You would need to setup a VSS signal. 40 tooth. You could do that a couple of different ways.
Then use a relay that would be grounded by the PCM to activate the shift solenoid.
It would be tunable by HPTuners. You would probably want to do it as a 3-4 shift in the 4L60E tune and use the A solenoid circuit.
It would be even more effective if you used dual relays and could use another solenoid to downshift it.

Could also use the shift light output, super simple to setup with a relay.
