The sun shell and reverse drum spin in 1st and 3rd gear. Since people don't cruise in 1st gear, they only notice the problem in 3rd gear.
A minority of people have "The Beast" sun shell report vibration problems. This is one reason many builders have switched to the Sonnax SmartShell (there are other advantages too).
However most vibration problems are due to worn trans mounts or using a Poly trans mount. If nothing else, a worn or overly-stiff trans mount will amplify even minor vibrations.
