4L70e gear indicator
First post for me. Just purchased a cruise and connect package from Pace. It's an LS376 (480hp) mated to a 4L70e trans. The transmission includes the Supermatic Controller Kit.
I am going to install a Lockar floor mounted shifter. I would also like to have a gear indicator. The gear indicators from Lockar or Gennie have an electro-mechanic box that attaches to the shifter in order to get the gear that's engaged. The dakota also uses a similar set-up.
However, I understand that you can get the current gear (as well as paddle shift through the gears) electronically on the Supermatic controller.
I have looked everywhere, but can't seem to find a plug and play solution. Anyone has an idea for a gear indicator?
Thanks
I am not aware of any plug-and-play specific gear indicators. A relatively simple circuit that monitors the voltage to the shift solenoids could display the gear with 4 LEDs; a digital readout would be a bit more complex.
As you suggested there is a solution using multi gauge units for the 6L80e swaps from Speartech - but I only need the gear indicator (and I have a 4L70e!)
Any ideas for a plug any play solution?
