Exclamation Please help with 4L60E part identification-time sensitive!

So my car is banging the rev limiter in each gear at WOT until I let off and then it shifts. Other than that, it drives ok. So today I decided to drop the pan and see if I had any metal shavings, change the filter and fluid, etc. What I found was this, not many shavings but this part was just hanging there when I took the pan down. I believe that it is a solenoid of some sort and it's location is near the wiring harness on the passenger's side rear of the valve body. It looks like the plastic clip is broken and there are some shavings in it as well. What the heck is this part and how can I fix it? I'm assuming that this was causing my issues? Thanks in advance.

That's the electronic pressure control solenoid. It looks like you have a vacuum modulator kit installed. If thats the case the vacuum modulator now controls the pressure and the epc just hangs in the pan.

Is part of that epc sheared off? I found a GM part # on it, 24209276, and it looks like part of it may be broken off? Should I leave the epc out or hook it up and stuff it back in there? Also, not sure about the vacuum part. Would I have vacuum lines running somewhere if that was the case? Thanks.

The "dummy epc" is left hooked up and laying in the pan. It's basically there to prevent codes from being thrown. Vacuum line should be coming out some where around the electrical plug.

Have you checked the throttle postion sensor?

I found a "vacuum" line I believe but it is vented to atmosphere. The vacuum line should be connected to the brake booster correct? Maybe that was causing some issues but it seemed to drive ok up until recently.
