Another 4l60e question, more about PCM compatibility.
After extensive searching in the forum I really couldn't find the answer to my question I will ask here in a few.
Now, I have a 95 4l60e off a B-Body that I plan on using on my 94 Roadmaster. I do know that from 94-96 4l60e's changed, both electronically and valve body.
I am in the process of building a 6.0L LQ4 that I plan on matching to the 95 4l60e and installing both into my Roadmaster later this year. I already know about the required spacer and modding the flywheel. So bolt-up isn't my problem.
Now my question is, I have a PCM off a 2002 GMC pickup that i plan on using to control both the engine and trans, but I can not seem to find out if this PCM can be programmed to the parameters of the 95 4l60e.
I could possibly get a more late model trans but I have yet to come across anyone who has installed a 2-piece late model trans into a b-body.
Doing research on aftermarket 4l60e controllers. A lot of them are compatible with all year 4l60e's. I was thinking at worst case I could just get a EZ-TCU from TCI.

If that '95 4L60e is stock and never rebuilt, I doubt it will last long behind a 6.0L. GM kept making improvement to the 4L60e to strength it especially for LS1 and LS2 engines - by 2003 it had a hardened sunshell, improved sprag and other small upgrades. The 4L65E added 5-pinion planets and a hardened input shaft.
The 300mm input shaft 4L60E, which bolts directly to an LS engine, is only 1 inch longer (in the bell housing area) than a pre '98 trans.
