Banging in reverse
Yo guys, i have a 1998 Z/28 A4. i have 47,700 on it now and bought it used with 37,600. ever since i bought it i have this clunk.bang in reverse. when i shift the car into reverse and coast back i am ok. but when i give it some gas, like when parking there is this clunk that sounds like it is coming from the back seat area. i have changed the trans mount to poly, and i have changed the torque arm bushing to poly. i have also changed the rear driveshaft yoke and u-joint. still there. it has not gotten worse but sometimes if i need to stop abruptly i hear/feel it too. any words of wisdom ?? thanks in advance
Are you sure its not the transmission? Sounds like something is in the tranny. I had one do something similar and it was the input sprag. Its so slow going into gear that by the time you give it gas, its like revving it up and dumping it in reverse.
