Default t-400 tranny cooler line pressure

OK I have been reading about tranny cooler line pressure that if it is to high it will wipe out the thrust bearing on a ls motor and a mod motor. I put a gauge on mine the other day and in 3rd gear it never went over 40psi but in 1st gear it went to 60psi and the same for 2nd gear, what can you tell me about it. I have heard that you don't want anything over 40psi. Please help Thanks

You're fine. Those pressures are on the low side. Pressures here depend on application. What you are reading on the cooler line port is only one part of the equation. There is likely more pressure in the converter. You want to watch the pressures under power and when you let off after a pass.
