hey all i have a question about my transmission in my 99 silverado i just bought it with a trans issue so when i start driving it wants to rev to about 3500-4500 rpm before it shifts but if i start driving i let it rev a little then i let off the gas then it shifts after that it seems like it shifts to like 3rd or 4th because the rpm stays super low trying to accelerate to speed if i try to pass a slow *** it tried to down shift but just revs really high and wont grab a gear i hooked a scanner up to it and it was giving me a transmission solenoid A code so i replaced the A solenoid new fluid new filter and it somewhat fixed the downshift problem now it revs high then grabs a gear but its still doing what I've explained the further the gas pedal i push the higher it will rev before shifting. any help would be sweet.

Try checking the maf and cleaning it maybe?
