Newbie Question Regarding Stall Converter I have a stall converter from FTI that I bought for my 06 GTO and I am currently selling it. My question is will this work on a 1998 C5 Corvette? I have a person interested and I am unsure if it will work - I'll be calling FTI tomorrow but figured I'd make a thread as well.
I did find this thread where Circle-D gave some great technical input. From what I understand the C5 'Vette uses an LT style converter while mine will be LS style meaning it won't work in the Vette - is this correct?

Update: I just received some build specs of the persons car:
Bbk intake and throttle body.
243 heads with oversize valves
Lingenfelter gt2-3 cam
Ls7 lifters
New oil pump and water pump
25 percent under drive pulley
42 lb injectors
Bbk shorty headers
Center crossover
Corsa cat back
Blackening and no screen mas air flow
342 rear end
Trans being rebuilt to a category 5
Seeing that he has a built aftermarket transmission I asked him for more details on the trans to know if it is the factory input shaft or not. I also asked what flexplate he is running on the vehicle as well.

You sir are correct on the converter. It will not fit the C5 if it came off the GTO. The vette uses a drive plate that mounts to the torque tube instead of a flex plate that mounts to the engine and it has a different bolt pattern for the converter. I'm gonna say no on this one.
