Default Th350 conversion wiring question

Im going to run a th350 behind a 5.3 vortec, im working on redoing the wiring harness but not quite understanding what to do about VSS to the PCM. Some say its not needed but driveability is sacrificed.

Can I run a 8k pulse generator such as the dakota digital SEN-01-4160, that way I can keep my cable driven gauge? Can the computer be programed to accept 8k pulse?

Looking at a pinout, I would wire this sensor into RED 20/21 from my red/blue comp harness?

Thanks for any replies, I tried searching but didn't quite come up with a definite answer.

Talked to my local tuner last night, if anyone is interested in this.

He said I can use the DD-sen-4160 or the others avaliable depending on your usage. He will have to reset some of the ecm constants to accept the 8k pulse but it will let the engine know its moving or not to eliminate the stalling issue that a few people have noted when not supplying the ecm with a VSS signal.

I put a th350 in my car and never messed with any wiring. It did run goofy for about 30 seconds of each time I would start it and drive, then it would clear up and rip dick.
