Default 97 4l60e Trans Shift Cable Issue

i did an LT1 to LQ4 swap a couple months ago.
Using the same 4l60e trans.
The main issue is having the shift cable no function correctly.
When i manually move the trans lever on the transmission either to P R N D etc.
It shifts fine or moves to the appropriate shift.
Once i adjust the shift cable. I move it From P to R or D tires dont at all.

So it sounds to me im not adjusting the shift cable correctly.
Moving the trans lever with my hands the tires move correspondingly to the shift position.

Also, the plastic ring that is on the shift cable to the car body is tore.

Thanks for the help.

Default

i solved my own problem. lol

on the 97 pontiac firebird formula the shifts are P R N D 3 2 1
So i was looking at the adjustment from shobox.com for the 95 camaro which are P R N OD D 2 1.

I followed the same adjustments stated on http://shbox.com/trans/A4_trans_linkage.html
Just with 97 formula shifts (P R N D 3 2 1).
Now i put the shifts on the console and wala !! its all set correctly.
ZOMG!! i feel so silly. i well i learn from my own mistakes.
