Default 2000 model 6.0 and 4l80 converter question

I have a 2000 model 2500 truck, 6.0 with 4l80 trans. Converter is starting to slip. Need to replace. I know the 2000 model 6.0 has the extended crank hub and converter must fit this. I'm told i can cut down the hub on the converter for newer models to fit. If i do this do i have to change the flex plate also? I was thinking that they are different too. Thanks

If the truck came stock with a 4L80, then all the adapters are already there. Assuming you want to get a stock replacement converter, no modifications are necessary. Just install like normal.

Yes it came stock with the 4l80. It's a 2500. But what all do i have to do to if I replace the converter with one from a newer model?

Nothing, just install it. It might look a little different, but dimensionally it is the same.
