you'll be much happier with the PT than that SS3800. I made that switch myself.

Would running "NOS" qualify for NA? I don't think so.

"I ran 11.82----->NA<-----with that converter and an internally stock engine, 3.23 gears, with a raceweight of 3550 lb."

About his converter choice....let's review...

"i also dont want to spend too much on this car .i was thinking maybe a 3000 would be ideal but possibly a 3500 converter would be the most i would consider. i somtimes blow a 100 dry shot on the car."

When someone says "maybe 3500 at the most" it tells me that he really doesn't want a PT converter.

When someone says that he doesn't want to spend very much it tells me that he really doesn't want a PT converter.

When someone says that he will sometimes "blow a 100 dry shot" it tells me that he really doesn't want a PT converter.

Let's be careful not to be cheerleaders for the converters that WE are running when making suggestions. We should advise what would be best for the person asking based on the information they give us.

I chose a TCI 3500 knowing I didn't want to get too wild and was considering spraying the motor.

I am very happy with it at this point and would recommend it.

The reason why I ask is and Im wondering what my times would be with the same verter SSF 3500 and my LTs? 13.2 has been my best before the LT's and verter.
see sig.

You can figure an easy .4 from the converter alone.Assuming you have traction.

I dropped .5 on my very first pass after the install. I was taking it real easy on the launch.

the guy doing my tranny suggested a 2600 or 2800. this is a streetcar/daily driver and i dont plan on putting slicks on it . i do run drag radials on it all the time for my daily driving . i dont want somthing too hard off the line cause i dont want to not have traction . this car is my daily driver but i do a lot of street racing with it .

don't waste your money if your gonna go with a 2600-2800. My traction is just fine with an Yank SS3800 and stock RSAs on the street, I just can't mash the gas, I gotta roll into it, but it still provides neck snapping launches.
