Default 40k tru cool install

Hey guys I just wanted to share my experience with installing a 40k tru cool in a Trans Am. I had researched to see if its been done but came up empty handed. At first I thought it was going to be impossible because of its size but its doable with patience. Only reason I went with the tru cool 40k is because I already had it and figured I could try and make it work. I'll post pics as soon as my phone let's me upload them.

I removed the black plastic that was in front of the ac condenser and it gave me plenty of space to slowly lower the cooler from the top. I used the brackets that came with the cooler and bent/ twisted them until I could use the holes from lower valance.

Here's the top view, I also bent/twisted the brackets until I had the clearance I wanted between the ac condenser and cooler. I also wanted the bracket hole to line up with the mounting hole for the air filter. Once it lined up I removed the bolts and assembled it back together. I hope this helps someone.

I think your car will run hotter with that shrouding removed. I know how hot it gets in the south! Basically it funnels the incoming air to force it over the radiator instead of letting it go around it. I removed a portion of mine for a cooler install and still fight high temps in the heat of the summer even with a new radiator.

I'll be monitoring my temps for a while before I beat on it. I thought it would also cause overheating issue but it hasn't yet. Only one way to find out lol.

Where do you live, what kind of driving, what thermostat and fan settings, what do you call "no cooling issues"? Here (and Dallas where OP is) it gets 100 with 100% humidity. Stock these cars run 230+ in that kind of weather, I'd like to be able to stay a little cooler then that, and with the shrouding removed I'm still hitting about 230 in the dead of the summer.
