missing prndl switch 4l80- please clarify fix
Im putting my older 4l80 into my 67 Camaro lq4 turbo build.
i dont have one of these 60NSS switches on the trans
http://www.transmissioncenter.net/4l80e.htm
so i dont have a place to plug my PNP C1 or C2 connectors
C1 is the 4 pin trans range A,C,P,B and C2 is the 7 pin backup lamps, NSS (which i can mount an old school NSS on the column or on my ratchet shifter cause my car was an M21)
According to Brendan and several smart guys here, the 60NSS trans mounted switch is not needed and i merely have to wire up Blue connector pin 34 to my old school NSS so that it grounds pin 34 in P and N
and then, i go into HPtuners and under System->PRNDL equipped, change that to PN only and reflash
Is that it?
After that, the pcm and trans should both be happy? with just the VSS/TOSS and the big round solenoid pressure control connector?
thanks guys!
I ask cause I have an 80 z28 with a 1993 4l80e trans that has no Prndl switch. My original one is located at the base of the column. I think I am missing a rod from the trans to the steering column to activate the switch. I need to find another option. It's just a matter of time before I start the car in gear by accident.
