Default Torque Converter and Weight

How much does weight affect what your torque converter stalls to? If a torque converter was built for a car that has a 3600lbs race weight and was put in a car with a 2600lbs race weight, will it still work fine? Does having a trans brake change whether it will still work or not? I did do a search and could not find a definite answer. This is also assuming all other things (Gear ratio, power, transmission, tire size) are all the same.

Vehicle weight does play a factor in stall speed. The same converter in the lighter car will not flash as high as it did in the heavier one. 1000lbs difference I would guess the stall speed would vary a few hundred rpm. We're not talking 1000rpm or anything drastic here however.

They should have the same launch RPM on the brake though so what would it affect?

On the transbrake the only contributing factors to the stall rpm are input power and the converter. Many consider this to be the true stall of the converter. Most converter companies rate their stall speeds at the flash rpm which would then be affected by gear, weight, etc. This is probably because a lot of the racers/enthusiasts don't roll around with transbrake equipped vehicles. Good question.
