4L60e shifter linkage

4L60e shifter linkage recently did a stall swap on my 02 camaro. somehow the linkage managed to get pulled down when we dropped the trans. anyone one know if i can correct this myself by pulling the linkage back up? also i somehow hit the shifter inside the trans and the car is in a forward gear. anyone know if can correct this?

If the outside cable housing was not pulled apart and the cable itself is not broken it should be fine and just needs adjusting. I like to adjust my cables with the shifter in natural.
To adjust unhood the cable from the lever on the side of the trans, twist this lever to the front of the car until it stops, (this should be park, with rear wheels off the ground you can turn the drive shaft to verify that it locks into park), now twist the lever back to the rear of the car 2 clicks, (should be natural). Now inside the car place the shifter in natural. Now back under the car see if the cable will hook up to the lever on the trans without moving the lever or cable. If not push the cable adjuster lock up, this is just rear of where the cable pushes into the cable bracket that is bolted to the trans pan. Now hook the cable end to the trans lever without moving the lever and push the cable adjuster lock down to lock the cable into place and move the shifter through all positions to verify the adjustment is correct.
