th400 stall?
Alright got a 5.3l ls6 cam 243 heads s475 1.10 turbo 3.73 rear gear on a 275 drag radial. Street and strip car. Not a every day driver but would still like it to be functional and fast. If that's even possible. What's a good stall size? Think 3000 would be okay? Thanks

IMHO:
The LS6 cam is for grocery shopping with Miss Daisy. It has negative 20 degrees of overlap at 0.050. (And that is the more aggressive of the two LS6 cams.)
Unless you have to stay smog legal, get an aftermarket cam with zero or more degrees of overlap (or the ASA cam which has 11 degrees of overlap) for fun at the track. That will work well with a 3600-4000 stall.
If a cam and spring swap is not in the near future, get the 3600 stall now. Lots of members here run that with stock setups.

I was hoping others would give their opinions too.
(I'm a moderator, not an expert, and other opinions and especially corrections are more than welcome.)
The OP is looking for more opinion, so lets hear them.

I'll bite. What car/truck is this? If you're looking for a stock like idle and already have the LS6 cam I would leave it. We have seen it work really well in the forced induction setups. That said there will be some power in a more aggressive custom grind from someone like Tick, LJMS, Tooley etc. Lots of good people on this site to help spec a camshaft.
As far as converter goes, this is right in our wheel house. We will use our custom billet front cover to bolt directly to your 5.3 flexplate saving the expense and hassle of spacers and adapters, and for a street oriented converter something in the 3400 range for decent spool. This will maintain excellent streetability.

Thanks guys. Ls6 cam is already in. I will probably opt for a different one in the future but this is my first turbo build.I've always owned standards so don't know anything about stalls. It's going in a 3600 pound 79 camaro. I just felt like 3600 would be high for the street but lIke I said I know nothing about stalls. Just know I'm gonna run a th400.
