Rear end, gear questions

Rear end, gear questions How can you tell what kind of gears you have, ie 2.73, 3.42, etc, on a A4 Camaro SS? How will getting a TransGo shiftkit and VIG or TCI 3800 converter affect it?
When would it be prudent to get a new rear end, either 12 or 9 bolt moser or strange, besides when the stock rear end goes out.
Would any of the above matter if my car will never be street raced and maybe once a month visit to the track if that?
Oh, if it matters, car will always be NA, no NOS.

Oh, that's where to find the code, yeah, on MTI's website is giving me a choice between standard or thick gears.

Your stock rearend will most likely be just fine for a very long time to come. Just leave it be.
Shiftkit = quicker and harder shifts but also posses the potential for faulty installation.
Converter = HANG ON!!! There's lot's of good reading about converters and shiftkits in this forum. Just do some reading and get familiar with the search feature.
