Default 4l60 leaking from harness plug...

I noticed it slides up and down but im wondering if i plug in the harness to the connector on trans it will pull it up to seal. Or do I need to drop the pan and go that route?

It should not slide up and down; it should be held in place by 4 plastic tabs. And there is an O-ring which seals against oil leaks.
If the plastic tabs break there is a special bracket available to hold the connector in place; the bracket is only a few dollars, but I have forgotten where to get it.
Anyone know?

Otherwise you may have to replace the harness. IIRC, you have to remove the 1-2 accumulator (3 bolts), the Pressure control solenoid (1 bolt) and TCC solenoid (2 bolts) which is part of the harness.

With luck, by dropping the pan and pushing up on the connector while snapping in the plug, you might get a good enough seal against fluid leakage.

Yes! Excellent! Thank you Cory.

OP: read Sonnax's description as this might work for you. The part is trivial to install; requires only removing/re-installing one VB bolt.

I pulled the plug out of the case, removed the o-ring from the plug and cleaned the plug, o-ring and hole in case that the plug came from with carb or brake cleaner. I used Ultra Gray RTV on the plug installed the o-ring applied a little more RTV and pushed it up into the case and let it set-up. Even with the 4 plastic tabs broken off the RTV held it in place and it does not leak. The above bracket would be good insurance to keep it from being pushing out.
