TCI 3500 problems help!
Next when it does lock up I hear a loud noise like running over the rumble strips on the expressway. The only way to avoid this is to speed up quicker and then let off the gas so there is no load on it when locking up. Or if I am driving around under 60 MPH with it locked and just press the gas pedal a little to hard it will do this also. what is wrong???
This part concerns me. That sounds like either a bad lockup clutch (converter's fault) or not enough pressure being applied to it (tranny's fault.)
I'd give Kevin Winstead at TCI a call.
This was only noticeable with normal load and not under wot.
You can give me a call at (662)224-9355. It's your TCC that is slipping. There could be a couple of different reasons why.
Kevin
Pardon my ignorance but what is TCC??
And why not post the reasons?
I talked to Kevin and he said there was not enough pressure pressing on the clutch or somthing like that and it was either the rubber ring around the shaft on the transmission or it was the converter itself causing the problems mentioned above.
So after work tonight I tore into it again and got the converter out. After inspecting the O-ring it looks fine. guess I need a new converter
I hope all that made sense its 5 am and I need sleep
