Default 6L80e to 5.3?

Doing a 6L80e swap on my 2009 hummer h3 alpha (LH8 5.3 V8).

Vehicle came with 4L60e trans from factory, with T42 controller and e67 for engine.

I've got everything to adapt the harness over to the new T43 that's inside of the 6L80e.

My donor 6L80e is from a 2015 truck (5.3L direct injected).

I know I will need to have my 6L80e TCM flashed back to the 2009 year in order to communicate with my e67 PCM.

Question is, are there issues with doing that? I've read that 2010+ T43 TCMs are different and can't be flashed prior to 2010. And I've already read where that's actually 2009+ TCMs.
If the latter, I shouldn't have an issue.

I've also read where some T43 controllers will work across the board so to speak. Is there any way to verify this?

Thanks!

You can add a harness to connect the 6L80E to the E67. Most people use the t42 connector wiring. There is only a need of approx. 8-9 wires. Depending on what functions you want to work. The transmission control module just needs the right calibration in it and it will work with the E67 Controller as long as you keep the 58x calibration.

Yeah, I've got the harness/wiring issue figured out. Guy sells a complete plug-n-play setup that I'll be using.

My only concern is putting the right calibration on that T43 TCM. I was told by one person that in 2010, the T43 changed, and newer controllers can't be flashed back to 2009 or you will brick them?
But I've read other things that say the newer T43s are more compatible... LOL

Just trying to get my game plan worked out before I get stuck in the middle of this deal with a bricked controller or something.

I have had no issues flashing the controllers. no matter what year they are. its all a matter of who is performing the tune.
