That's a good question for a half deaf mechanic...... I can hear them if my workspace is quiet. You may be able to hear a lot better than me?

Connect a test light to Battery Hot, Probe pin 2, If the test light illuminates.....
Unplug the trans connector. If the light goes out, The issue is in the trans (Harness or TCC PWM solenoid)

If the light stays lit, The problem is in the harness...short to ground, Pulling the circuit "Low".

If the light doesn't illuminate, Your dealing with an Open Circuit/bad connection/Open TCC PWM solenoid.

Also btw my friend sold me a 4l60 he had just installed the torque converter bad so crushed the pump other then that didn't have any run time on fresh rebuild. So might just end up swapping it

Ask if he started the engine - if he did not start it the damage is only to the pump, particular the rotor. A reasonably good used pump is about $100.
However if he did start it metal fragments may have circulated throughout the trans; unless you want to rebuild it or take the risk, I would think twice about using it.
That is my opinion anyway and I always defer to pro builders.

We went from diagnosing electrical issues to swapping units....Good luck, I hope the swap fixes it!

Yeah, what I think he is implying is that you diagnose the problem further before you swap the trans. Plenty of people here have prematurely swapped a trans only to discover the problem is a bad PCM, burnt cable, bad tune, etc.

Yeah, That's pretty much what I meant, The TCC PWM circuit has no feedback from the solenoid, Now he is swapping units, Seems odd?

Your probing pin 42 on the wrong connector & it is 100% my fault!, I told you blue connector, I should have typed Red connector. Goes for both pin 2 & pin 42.

Ok I did the tests in the correct connector and both are a no go. None of them even lit up with the test light hooked up too ground. Btw has to be tested with connectors off the pcm correct.

No harm done. The fan came on because you activated the fan relay.

PCM unplugged & Key-On.

Did you hook the test light to power & see if the circuits are grounded?
