Default Is this cooler enough???

I'm really ticked at my builder for charging me $200 extra for this cooler when he rebuilt my tranny. I know this cooler isn't even a $50 dollar one let alone all the hard work it took to install. But anyways he completely bypassed the stock cooler and since I got my engine cooling problem solved (runs now 190-195), I'm thinking on running it in series with the stock cooler. My driving style is more highway 80-110mph and been driving with this cooler alone for the past 500 miles. Let me know if I should run in series because I personally believe this isn't enough.

Not even sure what brand but he said it was 24k cooler. Would love it if someone can explain what the 24,000lbs rating means. Like is it the rating of how well it cools??

The one I originally wanted was the B&M 70264 with a fan on it. I should always do my own work from now on since I now know there are a lot of half asses out there. Lol

No damage....just go get a proper cooler. A stacked type cooler...not the row type like that one.

170-190 degree temp is optimal. If you never get above 190 then you are probably fine.

That is what I was trying to find out. how good do you guys think this cooler ran temp wise? Around what range does this puny thing cool around in your opinion.
I ordered a B&M 70264 the other day and I can't wait

It might look small, but it's really long. I wouldn't jump to conclusions until you got your temperature checked.

If he's your builder, chances are he knows what he is doing, and if you don't think so, then why would you choose him in the first place.

Ask him to check the temp for you for peace of mind before ripping into him.

the pictures are deceiving on the size, how long is it exactly? 24K GVW is generally how they rate them but i like to look at the BTU's its capable of dissipating more then anything. If its in line with your radiator cooler then its adding to the overall cooling capacity of the entire cooling system, not just cooling trans fluid. What kinda car is this on? I was able to use an OEM one (sifting through available oem coolers) and got a nicely mounted police pursuit edition cooler for an impala ss mounted on mine.

It's a 94 Z28 and this cooler ran solo. Bypassed the stock cooler.
