Default HD2 shift kit question

ATSG book differs from HD2 kit instructions....seems odd. I don't have the capture plug, but wonder if i should find one?

Thoughts?

You must have the aluminum end plug installed if this is a 1993-1995 valve body, and it has the valve and springs as shown. The 1996 and up valve body has a different setup on the 3-2 control valve. The reason for removing the spring and installing the stacked solid spring in the 1996 & up valve body is to eliminate one of the leaks that takes away apply oil on the 2-3 shift. This is not needed on the earlier 3-2 valve setup.

Thanks for the reply , Dana. Yes, it's a 2002 unit, so I'll not worry about it then. :-)
