Default 4L80 for a 409 LQ supercharged engine help here!

hello guys, I am finishing my project and its time to build the transmission, but I dont have any knowledge about that, It is my first project ever and I made many mistakes so this time I want to hear what the experience have to say. Ill try to give you some info about my project first:

the car is a 2001 camaro with a It's a fully built engine. 4.0" stroke forged crank. Eagle h beam rods and arias forged pistons 4.030 bore . 10.0.1 comp ratio. LSA ported heads with a custom made camshaft. Trunion upgraded rockers and dual valve springs with ti retainers. Along with stainless steel valves. And cometic gaskets arp studs and harware with a melling high volume oil pump, the cam numbers are:

I bought a 1998 4L80 I got in a Junk yard for almos 1k, now I realize that was a stupid thing to do... so I tried to find someone In the Orlando area to rebuild it but I didnt find anyone reliable to do it, I forgot to mention the car is not meant for race but as a street car mostly.

The guys at the shop where the engine is being build told me the converter is build based on the engine right?.

The hard part is, with the $1,000 I waste on the 4L80 from the junk yard, I only have $2,200 to finish the project (transmission + converter).

Any suggestion about companies, people arround Orlando, what converter get???

thanks all for your time and help!

A couple of things I noticed... That engine is going to be a tight fit under an F body cowl. I could be wrong, but I don't think that's gonna happen without a lot of work. Secondly, what is the condition of the 4l80? Do you know any history? You may be better off leaving it as is rather than have someone try and "build" it for $1000. A good converter will be in the $700-1300 range I would guess. If you change from that TVS style blower, your torque curve will be different, so don't choose a converter until you get that motor figured out 100%

Not sure what your power goals are but $2200 should cover parts and converter alone. I would bite the bullet and send it to Jake's and have peace of mind.

Thanks guys! the guys at MadDoog performance made a kit for me for 2.700, for a good 4l80 and a 3000 converter, about the LSA blower, yes it was a pain in the but, and I almost had to cut one of my winshields wipers but at the end it did work with some small spacers and some mayor work on the cowl
