Default Lockup Question

Since the car is waiting on a part I might as well figure this issue out..
WOT from 1>2 and 2>3 is perfectly fine. However WOT in 3rd is good up until 4500rpm at that time the RPMS drop to around 4000 and the engine continues to climb from that point. I cant remember for sure but I dont think the MPH gauge drops with the rpms..Is this Lockup or a misfire? I have a 2500 protorque stall with lockup on a built tranny. Is there a way I can disable lockup to test if the rpm drop is a problem motor wise or just in the pcm tune? Car has stock 3.23s

Unhooking the brake light switch should disable the lockup solenoid.

in other words, if you hit the brake while driving (dont take your foot off the gas pedal) it should unlock the converter, making it quite obvious whether what you are feeling is the converter or not
