4l80e wont go in reverse Hi everyone
I just got done swapping a 4l80e into my 89 camaro from a 2wd chevy van. I had the whole trans gone through by a professional shop in my area and was given the all clear by them. Because I am not running a computer (carb car) I chose to go with a TCI manual valve body with trans brake. Now that it is in the car it drives fine in all forward gears but will not go into reverse. I sent the valve body back to TCI and they said the valve body was fine but the trans doesn't seem to be building enough line pressure to shift into reverse.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Does the Trans Brake hold? If not, I'm going to guess a problem with the rear band/servo issue. Did a new band get installed? Some of these new "Smooth" bands are way off...Even Borg Warner ones. It is imperative that servo travel is checked during assembly.
About the Pressure Building comment....Have you checked pressures?
As a side note...I find TH400 "Grooved" bands to work better with stock pin lengths.
