You don't won't to cheap out on the converter or cooler. If you buy a cheapo converter and it takes a dump it will most likely take out the trans also. Obviously don't cheap out on the cooler.

Circle D and Yank are great as well. Either are a good choice. I chose FTI because I spoke with the owner and he was a extremely helpful and nice guy.
Every one and there mom runs Yank. I know there good but I like to be different

If I'm not mistaken FTI makes there own converter and Yank uses someone elses. That was another selling point in favor of FTI to me.

Imo I don't believe there is a better stall out there for my specific application. I've got 2k miles on it so far and about 8 track passes. I was spinning so the converter didn't really get to shine.

Hopefully next time out I will be hooking and really see what I can pull my 60 down to. Hopefully 1.5x range

with a stage 3 cam make sure you go high enough on the stall or it will be a turd , every step up in cam pushes the powerband up , you need enough stall that it hits the sweet spot quickly when getting on it and so it will have reasonable street manners when going out to dinner and movies lol. Maybe ask BTR what stall he recommends for street use with that cam probably no one knows its demands better than him...

They told me call a reputable converter company and give them the specs of my car and just gave me a round about stall speed number. I asked when I ordered lol

Can't go wrong with Circle D. I made the mistake of running a cammed motor with a cheap really tight converter and the truck was weak off the line. Put the circle d in and its a totally different truck. DONT CHEAP OUT ON CONVERTER!

another vote for Circle D here. i have a 3800 billet single in my camaro/4l60e and it drives awesome. if $900 is out of budget you can find good used converters for 5-600, dont cheap out on this part.

I have always ran Yank in all of my A4 Fbod's ( and I have owned several). Most previous was an 01 Firehawk w an LG G5X2, hand ported 241's, Yank SS3600 w supporting mods. Car put down 430/405 to the wheels... Never had a problem w the Yank... Years ago I ran just the Yank SY3500 ( they don't make it anymore) on an otherwise stock LS1... The car was a beast!!!

My builder has recommended Circle D... and since they are TX based and a reputable company I will most likely give them a try w my current Fbod. I have heard nothing but great things about Chris, his converter, and more importantly his customer service.

Neal Chance Racing Converters. Check out their website since they have a mild to wild selection.
