6L80E swap

Ive got 2008 G8 and the 6L80 has had a mechanical failure, I've been offered a 2010 6L80 for a good price, my question is will the newer tranny work with my 2008 engine PCM? I'am lead to believe there was a software change around 2010 in the T43 TCM? or can I pull the 2008 TCM out of my old tranny and fit to the 2010 tranny? TIA

The TCM in your failed transmission will bolt in and work but probably has to much debris from the failure to use it. There are software differences, someone who knows what they are doing can make it work in your 2008 G8. You don't want to run the 2008 cal in a 2010 transmission since they made some hardware changes that will affect the shifts.
