Default 4l60e problems!!

alright guys I did a 01 5.3 and 4l60e swap in my truck. had a donor 01 Silverado 5.3l 4x4 but don't know if the trans was a 80e or 60e?? went to the junkyard and pulled a 4l60e out of a 01 Silverado 2wd. I pulled it a few months ago and it sat until today well the problem im having now is it wont shift into 2nd or overdrive.. will the 4x4 harness or possibly have been a 4l80e in previous have anything to do with this problem?

No 2nd or 4th can happen if the sun shell is broken. If so, it requires a rebuild.

Was the main transmission electrical plug on the right or left hand side of the trans? It’s impossible to help you if you don’t even know what type of trans you put in.

It could be a broken sun shell, but you would have no reverse either.

It sounds to me like the band dried out with all of the junk yard time and sitting around, then failed when put into service. Either way, a rebuild is likely in order...

Oh yeah, forgot about causing no reverse also.
