Default drivetrain clunk is it normal?

when i shift into drive or reverse i get a clunky feel like bad ujoints or play in the drivetrain. it did it before i had all my drivetrain mods, and still does it after.
ive replaced the transmount with a poly one, checked pin angle, checked all bolts underneath.
i was thinkin it would be gone with the new trans,ds, and 12bolt. just by feel with the rear of the ds(unbolted) in my hand and turning back and forth it feels like theres play in the trans tailshaft. with the ds bolted in i turn the rear tires to see if theres play in the rear and it seems nice and tight.
im starting to assume its normal just like my piston slap. could it be a motor mount? ive had someone watch the motor when i put it in gear and it doesnt move. ive also laid under the car while someone put the car in gear. the trans seems to move a lil even with the new poly mount as it takes up the play and slams into the ds. can a converter cause this? kev
