There are many bad reviews of them here. Here is one of them:

Especially see my post #9 for the unethical shenanigans they try to pull.

There simply are better quality, more up-to-date and more reputable kit vendors.
While not the absolute cheapest, I have directed many members to TrutechTrans and everyone has been very happy with them. Call owner Jeff to have him select the best/custom kit for you; and remind him to become a sponsor here.

Isn't there another business with the name 'monster' in it that's reputable?

Well it certainly isn't "Monster Cable", a company that for a while tried to sue any company/product with the name "Monster" in it, like they owned the word. I won't buy a wire/cable/product from them if they were the last company on earth.

Interesting, they sued Monster Transmission too:

I believe your thinking monster clutches or something along those lines.

I HATED the "monster in a box" kit I bought from them, 650$ for the kit, plus 300 to have someone build it and install it for me for it only to break because of chinsey 5 pinion planetaries. I ended up buying from Geared Up my second go around and it's working like a dream.

Was it the Chinese planetary? Considering how sorry the steel in the tools made over there is, I can only imagine how badly a hard part in a transmission would fair.

Wow, read a little deeper and according the engadget.com they also sued "Monster.com, the Chicago Bears (aka the "Monsters of the Midway"), or the Pixar film Monsters, Inc." and Monster Mini Golf. My friend who's super into tech stuff always said they were overpriced crap cables.

Docrocket1967, yeah it was Monster Clutches that I was thinking of. It's unfortunate that they share half the name because I know I've seen confusion posted in here before mixing Monster Transmission with Monster Clutches.

YES. I couldn't believe it bro, I wasn't expecting it in such a reputable company. They were backing it up saying how great they were, meanwhile they broke under less than 500hp.
