4L80e wiring and differances
Hey there everyone. I'm looking at doing my first LS swap. Not a true LS but same basic platform. Here's my components I currently have, and wanting to see what it would take to use what I have.
Swap is going into a 1968 GTO
Current engine I have 2000 6.0L, with harness and ECM (iron head, Longer crank)
2000 4L80E 4x4 transmission, mated up to current engine
2004 4L80E 2wd transmission
I really would like to use the 2wd trans which is an 04, and use my current 2000 6.0 for the swap.
I know they bolt up, Im just not sure what to do with wiring, ecm being that there is a few year spread.
Thanks everyone for the help, I know this has been discussed on here before, but Im new to the forum, and cant locate the exact info I need.

I think the internal wiring plug is the same, inside the trans they changed the force motor plug, but doesn't affect the case plug-as I remember the second sensor Speed) plug was on the transfer case, there is prob. a plug in the 4WD case where the 2 WD sensor would be
Not sure if the 4WD transfer case speed sensor plug is the same and can be used on the 2WD speed sensor-easy enough to try it
The main case conn plug changed back around 1993

once I get the two transmissions side by side, ill be able to tell. If the speed sensors are differant, I may try to use the correct sensor for the trans, and wire up a new plug to adapt to the harness.
